Pre-release · iPhone to Mac
Flick it.
It lands on your Mac.
Pick a photo on your iPhone, throw it toward the edge that faces your Mac, and watch it arrive on screen. It travels over an encrypted local connection and is saved to a folder you choose.
No account. No cloud. Nothing is saved until your Mac has checked it.
Between the appsidle
- Drag the photo up and let go, or press it.
01
Pair once, then just throw.
-
Pair with a code
Open both apps on the same Wi-Fi. Your iPhone finds your Mac, and both show the same six-digit code. Confirm it on each and they trust each other from then on.
-
Tell it where your Mac is
Say whether your phone sits below, left of, right of or above your Mac, and pick the display. That edge becomes your throw direction.
-
Flick a photo or file
Choose something from Photos or Files and flick it toward that edge. A haptic tap confirms the throw, and it slides onto your Mac's screen from the matching side.
02
Your files never leave your network.
There's no server in the middle and no account to make. Your iPhone talks directly to your Mac.
- Discovery
- Bonjour on your local network. Your Mac is only visible while it's set to receive.
- Pairing
- A six-digit code on both screens. A device can't send or receive until you've confirmed it on each.
- Encryption
- TLS 1.2 with ChaCha20-Poly1305, keyed by a secret made during pairing. Unknown devices fail the handshake.
- Integrity
- Your Mac checks the SHA-256 fingerprint before moving the file into place. Your iPhone shows "sent" only after the Mac confirms.
- Storage
- Only the folder you picked on the Mac. No quiet access to your Desktop or photo library.
- Limits
- Up to 100 MB per file, one at a time. An interrupted transfer starts over and never leaves a half-saved file.
03
One on your phone, one in your menu bar.
iPhone
- Pick from Photos or Files
- A throw surface with haptic feedback
- A Send button if you'd rather tap
- Live progress and clear errors with retry
Mac
- Lives quietly in the menu bar
- An arrival animation that never steals focus
- A notification when the animation can't show, such as over full-screen apps
- A transfer history you can clear, with an Open in Finder button
Supports VoiceOver, and follows Reduce Motion: you get a calm static confirmation in place of the flying animation.

Good to know
- Is this a replacement for AirDrop?
- No. It's a quicker, more visual way to move things to one Mac you use every day. Pair once and you never pick a destination again.
- Do I need the internet?
- No. Both devices need to be on the same local network. Some guest, hotel and office Wi-Fi blocks devices from finding each other, and so do some VPNs. The app tells you when that's happening.
- Can I flick from inside the Photos app?
- No. iOS doesn't let apps capture gestures inside other apps, so you pick photos and throw them from within Drager.
- Does it know where my phone is?
- No. You set the direction once, and it doesn't use sensors or location to guess. If you move your setup around, change the direction in Settings.
- What do I need?
- An iPhone on iOS 26 or later and a Mac on macOS 26 or later.
